When I came across Dan's beautiful work I was completely transported into each moment that he captures. I heard the sound of high heels on hard wood floors and the laughter and sweet whispers between a couple in love. I felt the cool valley air and all the excitement and joy that surrounded the groom, his bride and all of their loved ones. His work is truly moving, and I know you will enjoy it as much as I do.

We kicked off the day with a morning hike around Capitol Reef. After the hike we headed to Moab and drove through Arches National Park. It was such an incredible day. I couldn't get Conor Oberst's Moab out of my head, naturally. Thankfully, I had Perry there to serenade me. We hiked until sunset and ended the day beneath the beautiful desert skies. We had the pleasure of attending and capturing our dear friends Lou and Damsel's beautiful wedding day in Ohio. Most wedding features are highlighting the bride but for this, we'd like to spotlight the groom and all the special moments he had as he prepared to meet his bride, spent time with his loved ones, and married his one and only. We were also very fortunate to be able to create Lou's wedding band. What a blessing it has been to be part of their great love story. 

I was looking forward to this day's adventure the most because we were going to explore Bryce Canyon National Park. Before my grandpa died he gave me a list of places I must-see and Bryce Canyon was on that list. I couldn't wait to see this geological beauty in person. When looking down from the top it looks like a huge amphitheater made out of beautiful rock formations. It felt like we stumbled across another planet. 

Courtney Illfield is a true artist. Whether she is capturing a happy couple's wedding day or a beautiful model in warm morning light, her photographs evoke the genuine passion of the moment. The second day of our summer road trip was spent hiking Angel's Landing in Zion National Park. The landing is a beautiful 1,488-foot tall rock formation that provides an incredible view of Zion Canyon. The trail is only 2.4 miles so we didn't think much of it even though we heard that it would be steep. It's a national park, how bad could it be?

I am absolutely blown away by the ultimate power couple, Lucy & Alastair, creators of She Takes Pictures He Makes Films. They both have this incredible ability to capture genuine intimate moments that tell the true love story of such a special day. All of the tears, smiles, affection, laughter—all of the love—captured so you can relive all of the blissful details. Spontaneously deciding to get married on the beach in Maui, you can tell your family and friends later. That is exactly what Jess & Nic did. They have such love and passion for each other. We're honored to have made their engagement ring and their custom "Her and Her" wedding bands.

I absolutely fell head over heels for Lauren Campbell's photography when I stumbled across her amazing captures of the lovely couple, Justin and Laura in the Bago State Forest, surrounded by the tallest of sugar pines. What a dream. Here's a look at some of our favorite shots from a few of the recent weddings she has captured.

Exploring Antelope Canyon was a surreal experience. We had wanted to visit the canyons for a couple years before we finally freed up enough adventure time to go and do it. There are two canyons, upper and lower. We took a truck out across the open desert to explore the upper canyon first. You always see photographs of these majestic places but it isn’t until you experience them for yourself and you truly understand their beauty. It’s not just what the eye sees but it’s what the heart feels and how the experience expands the mind all the while, imprinting a memory that when thought upon will forever bring us back to that special moment. 

After spending January to May exploring the Hawaiian islands, it’s time for some long stretches of open road lined with ever-changing landscapes. We will pack up and set out from Southern California crossing deserts, canyons, mountains and cities to arrive in the beautiful countryside of my grandparent’s 13-acre property in Michigan. We will visit them for a few weeks and Perry will set up his traveling workshop there until we’re off on our next adventure.
